Cultural Importance

The primary religion in Algeria is Muslim, and the traditions that come with this religion are important to Algerian ways of life as it keeps their society connected. An example of this can be seen in Newfoundland and Ireland (Handleman). In Newfoundland people cover themselves completely and would show familiarity with knowing who the person was, guessing who the person was correctly without seeing their body showed a familiarity that was beyond sight and sound which strengthened social bonds.
